Updated’ Enterprise Manager Desktop Widgets Released

Enterprise Manager team has released the first set of desktop widgets for EM GC in OOW 09.

EM Desktop Widgets are lightweight rich internet applications (runs on Adobe’s AIR runtime) that provide persistent desktop access to key Enterprise Manager monitoring and diagnostic
information.

Using User Defined Metrics and Notification Methods – Rules

To add some more exercises for my training just worked out an example of creating an User Defined Metric and notify it’s alert using a custom Notification Method and custom Notification Rule.

Installing Agent 10.2.0.5.0 and upgrading to 10.2.0.5.2 using OEM Grid Control

After installing OEM GC 10.2.0.5.2 (see my previous post), I did an installation of a new Agent on a different Host, pushing it from the OMS.

After installing the 10.2.0.5.0 Agent, I upgraded the Agent to 10.2.0.5.2 by using the OEM Procedure “Patch Agent”

Online Patching Setup

While creating a new training environment, I had to do the Online Patching Setup in OEM Grid Control. By this I will be able to patch any of the 10.2.0.5.0 Agents to 10.2.0.5.2, by applying patch 9162498 (PSU 2).
