Attended to the OEM GC – SIG in Berlin

Just returned from Berlin where I attended to the OEM GC – SIG Day. This day was organised by the DOAG (German Oracle Users Group).

There were 40 interested attendees.

The theme of this day was "Security and High Availability`

I did 2 presentations:

One of the things that were anounced is that next year May 5th and 6th there will be a OEM GC – SIG day focussing on the than released OEM GC Version 11R1.
During one of these days there will be the possibility to get "Hands on" experience with the new release.

“Database Server Provisioning with OEM”, what a great presentation

Today I attended the presentation on “Database Server provisioning with OEM” done by my good friends Mario Lohner (Draexlmaier) and Rajat Nigam (Oracle).

These guys did a very good job and the audience was very enthusiastic. This is exactly we what we need, getting OEM GC the attention I think it needs. The guys at Draexlmaier (Mario, Robert, Heinz) just did a tremendous proof of the efficiency gain when implementing the Provisioning and automated Patching Pack. I am pretty sure this presentation motivates some OEM users that were in the room to continue their efforts to get this working at their sites.

OEM GRID Control – Special Interest Group Day – Dec 10th

The OEM GRID Control Special Interest Group (part of DOAG – German Oracle User Group) is organizing a special day on December 10th 2009.

The focus of this day will be “OEM GRID Control, Security and High Availability”.

OEM Provisioning Concepts and Example

Today I did my presentation on “OEM Provisioning Concepts and Example”.

With an audiance of about 40 it still  proofs to be difficult to explain this thing.

Perhaps next time in the German language? Not sure if that is going to clarrify things better.

DOAG Conference Nuernberg started

The DOAG Conference in Nuernberg started today.

It looks like more or less the same number of attendees this year as there were at lasts year conference.
